HOW WE WILL WORK TOGETHER
DBT and RO DBT are skills-based therapies designed to create real
LASTING CHANGE.
CHANGE BEGINS WITH A PLAN
Therapy begins with an intake appointment, followed by 4 pre-treatment sessions to assess emotional patterns, behaviors, relationships, and determine goals.
Your therapist will then establish a clear treatment plan and schedule for what needs to change and how to get there. Learn more about the intake and treatment process here.

Treatment is PRACTICAL, collaborative,
and built FOR LIFE outside the therapy room.
STOP MANAGING, START LIVING
Sessions are goal-oriented and require your active participation. We work on the specific challenges showing up in your daily life — using diary cards to track emotions, urges, behaviors, and reactions.
You'll learn concrete skills to regulate emotion, tolerate distress, and rebuild relationships. This isn't just insight therapy. It provides real tools for real life.

Not all therapy
—and not all DBT—is the same.

Therese is the only native Arkansan to complete the Linehan Institute Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Certification and one of the very few clinicians worldwide with advanced training across DBT for substance use, eating disorders, trauma, PTSD, adolescents, families, and Radically Open DBT (RO DBT). She is also an IAEDP Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) with a multi-state licensed offering both in-person and online therapy.
Therese completed advanced mindfulness training through Marsha Linehan’s Empty Cloud Sangha, along with 900-hour Yoga Alliance certification and KRI Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Instructor certification—the only clinician in Arkansas with this distinction. These credentials deepen her therapy work by supporting trauma treatment through mindfulness, somatic healing, and nervous system regulation.

Advanced training in: DBT-PE, DBT-SUD, DBT-ED, DBT-PTSD, and RO DBT
Full Linehan-model treatment—not simply “DBT-informed” therapy

Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) is currently the only insurance accepted. Because coverage and network participation vary among BCBS, Anthem, Health Advantage, and individual plans, it is each client's responsibility to verify that Therese is an in-network provider under their specific policy.
While insurance eligibility can be confirmed, the details of your individual benefits—including deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and coverage—are not available until claims have been processed. To avoid unexpected costs, clients are encouraged to contact the member services number on the back of their insurance card before their first appointment to verify their mental health benefits and obtain an estimate of their out-of-pocket responsibility.
For clients using out-of-network insurance benefits, Therese will provide a superbill that includes the information needed to submit claims for reimbursement. Therese files insurance claims only for in-network BCBS plans.
Payment is due at the time services are provided.

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) works for people struggling with a wide range of challenges—intense emotions, self-harm urges, eating disorders, addiction, relationship conflict, and family difficulties. It combines individual therapy with skills training to help you build a life you want to live. DBT teaches four core skills—mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness—that give you practical tools to use between sessions. The approach balances acceptance (validating where you are now) with change (working toward the future you want), which is why it works so well for people who've felt stuck or misunderstood by other therapies. DBT typically involves a year or more of consistent commitment: this structured approach is what makes it so effective for lasting change. Do you want to know more? Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT) is an evidence-based treatment designed for individuals who struggle with maladaptive overcontrol—a pattern characterized by excessive self-control, perfectionism, emotional inhibition, rigid thinking, and difficulty forming close, meaningful relationships. While these traits often contribute to success and high achievement, they can also lead to loneliness, chronic anxiety, depression, and reduced quality of life.
Comprehensive RO DBT typically includes a 30 week protocol that includes weekly individual therapy, RO DBT Skills Class, between-session coaching when appropriate, and therapist consultation to ensure treatment remains adherent to the model. Together, these components help clients build greater openness, flexibility, and more connected, meaningful lives. Do you want to know more? Download the clinical overview here.
Therese is an IAEDP-certified eating disorder specialist with training in the medical, nutritional, and therapeutic aspects of eating disorder treatment. She begins with a comprehensive assessment, including laboratory work, symptom measures, and food logs, to determine the severity of the disorder and whether outpatient treatment is appropriate. Clients are required to have a primary care physician involved, and may also need support from a dietitian or psychiatrist depending on their needs. Therese collaborates closely with these professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Drawing on advanced training in DBT and RO DBT, she tailors treatment to each client and often incorporates family systems work when appropriate. Treatment is collaborative, individualized, and regularly adjusted based on the client's progress. Do you want to know more? Download the clinical overview here.

Mindfulness is the practice of bringing your attention to the present moment with openness, curiosity, and without judgment. It involves noticing your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and urges as they arise, rather than automatically reacting to them. By increasing awareness, mindfulness creates space to respond intentionally instead of acting on autopilot.
In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness helps individuals become more aware of intense emotions and choose skillful responses. In Radically Open DBT (RO DBT), mindfulness encourages greater receptivity, flexibility, and openness to new experiences, helping individuals move beyond rigid patterns of thinking and behavior. In both approaches, mindfulness increases awareness, expands choice, and supports meaningful change.
Therese integrates advanced mindfulness practices, somatic approaches, and Kundalini Yoga into trauma-informed treatment when appropriate. Combined with DBT and RO DBT, these practices help clients reconnect with their bodies, increase emotional awareness, regulate the nervous system, and foster lasting healing and resilience.
